Cancer Patient Experience Survey Results

Jul 6, 2022

Today NHS England published the 2021 results of the Cancer Patient Experience Survey.

Patient experience of care is incredibly important and it’s a testament to the hard-working NHS staff that cancer patients have given the highest rating on record for overall experience at 8.92 out of 10.

NHSE know some patients have experienced disruption to their care over the course of the pandemic and the survey has highlighted areas where improvements are needed. These valuable insights will now be explored further so that meaningful changes to services can be made and so that NHSE can continue to improve on and provide a high level of patient care.

This year the survey has also undergone the first major review since 2015. This is to reflect the developments in provision of services and also provides us with more insight than ever before including increased detail on experience by cancer type, age, ethnicity, sex, deprivation and long-term conditions. This additional insight will help to inform more bespoke services and solutions designed to meet the needs of patients.
