The Invisible Cancer

On World Cancer Day 2026, we launched our new report, The invisible cancer: How delays, misdiagnosis and unequal treatment of neuroendocrine cancer in the UK are costing lives, calling for greater recognition and understanding of neuroendocrine cancer.

With greater awareness we hope to achieve earlier diagnosis, so that people receive timely treatment and support that can change lives.

Neuroendocrine cancer is largely invisible, and the consequences are significant. It is missed, misdiagnosed and misunderstood. It takes an average of 4.5 years to be diagnosed from first symptom, and this delay causes real harm. Our report calls for greater recognition and understanding, with the aim of supporting earlier diagnosis and better care.

Help Us Make the Invisible Visible

Please read and share this report and symptoms checklist on social media and in GP surgeries to raise awareness of neuroendocrine cancer.

We would really appreciate your support in sharing the report.

Thank you for helping make an invisible cancer visible.

Unfortunately we are having to close our Helpline on Tuesday 6th October - however it will be open as usual on both Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th.
