UPDATE on The National COVID Cancer Antibody Survey : Recruitment completed

Mar 24, 2022

We are very grateful to the Neuroendocrine Cancer UK charity and community for their insights, work and participation in this survey.

The National COVID/Cancer antibody survey was a cancer pandemic response project aiming to understand the level of protection in cancer patients from COVID-19 following vaccination and infection.

Recruitment into the survey is now complete : Thank You to everyone for making this happen!

    • To date ~2,500 participants have taken part.
    • All participants were able to access home antibody testing without cost as a result of our work, whilst simultaneously contributing to coronavirus research for the immunocompromised and vulnerable.
    • All regions of the UK have participated and the feedback of those who have participated has been very positive.

The survey was recently flagged by Department of Health as a survey having a deep positive impact for cancer patients during the pandemic and an inclusive project that our civil servants were, anecdotally, most proud of.

With recruitment now complete, the project is now moving to analysis phase : where data analysts at DHSC will evaluate the utility of these tests. We will continue to keep you updated on progress.

None of this work would have been possible without support of our clinical leads or the insight from & work undertaken by our critically important cancer charities / support groups

Once again, thank you so much for your ongoing support during the course of this survey.
