I’m Mary, 28, and my partner Tom was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine tumours last year, aged just 27. His cancer started in his pancreas and has spread to his liver.

We have a young son Ronnie who is 4, and since Tom’s diagnosis, we’ve been passionate about advocating for ourselves and showing that young people can be affected by cancer too.

When Tom was diagnosed, I wish we’d seen more people our age, with young families, going through something similar. It might have made those first few months feel a little less lonely. I have made it my mission to raise awareness through the use of social media.

We’re living with cancer, not dying with it — and I’m proud to use our story to help others feel less alone.

Unfortunately we are having to close our Helpline on Tuesday 6th October - however it will be open as usual on both Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th.
