Clinical Trial Opportunity for People with Insulinomas
Rezolute is a company working on new treatments for rare diseases.
They are running a phase 3 clinical trial called the upLIFT study. This study is testing a new medicine called Ersodetug to see if it can safely reduce low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) in adults with tumour-related hyperinsulinism (HI).
What is tumour HI?
Tumour HI happens when certain tumours (lumps or abnormal growths) in the pancreas or other parts of the body make too much insulin or a similar protein called insulin-like growth factor-2 (IGF-2).
- Insulinomas are rare tumours that usually start in the pancreas and make too much insulin.
- Non-islet cell tumour hypoglycaemia (sometimes called Doege-Potter syndrome) is another rare condition where tumours outside the pancreas make hormones that act like insulin.
Both conditions can cause very low blood sugar, which is dangerous and can even be life-threatening.
Why does this matter?
Low blood sugar can cause serious problems, including confusion, memory issues, and other health complications. It can also make it hard for people with tumour HI to stay well enough to continue cancer treatment. Right now, treatment options are very limited.
Who can take part?
The study is open to adults (18+) who:
- Have a tumour that causes tumour HI
- Still have frequent, serious low blood sugar even with standard treatment

Please note: Ersodetug is still being studied and is not yet approved by any health authority.
