Aretha Franklin’s Detroit-based doctor talks about Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours

The oncologist who treated Aretha Franklin’s pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours spoke to the Detroit Free Press after the star’s death a year ago about the cancer that took her life.

Dr. Philip A. Philip, who leads gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine oncology at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, explained what neuroendocrine tumors are, how they are treated, along with symptoms and risk factors.
