May Highlights!

May 10, 2024

Thanks to you, this is what we have been able to achieve this month.
🎉 May Highlights! 🎉

📰 We were thrilled to announce that NICE has recommended SIRT (selective internal radiation therapy) for treating neuroendocrine tumour-related liver metastases. However, more work is needed to ensure equitable access and funding. We’ll continue to advocate for this essential treatment. (Link to news item & WebiNatter recording)

📅 We hosted a special focus Webi-Natter on SIRT with experts Raj Sririjaskanhthan, Rohini Sharma, and patient, Leanne Armstrong.

🗣️ We held a Self-Advocacy & Care Webi-Natter featuring Counselling Psychologist Elle Reed, who emphasised the importance of self-care and being heard in living with cancer.

🍰 We launched Cakes for a Cause to support our fundraising efforts!

🏥 Nikie proudly represented Neuroendocrine Cancer UK at the Bristol Patient Away Day, focusing on well-being and influential factors.

🎓 Our specialist nurse Olivia participated in the SCONET meeting in Glasgow, educating healthcare professionals about recent developments in neuroendocrine neoplasms and highlighting the impact of our charity.

🎥 We also launched our Conversation Openers videos: Practical Tips for Healthcare Professionals, aimed at enhancing communication and support for patients.

💬 We launched surveys and shared research studies – Your voice matters! Participate here: https://www.neuroendocrinecancer.org.uk/support-ncuk/get-involved/have-your-say/
