Supporting the

Neuroendocrine Cancer Community

NPF attends European Endocrinology Conference (ECE) 2019

May 31, 2019

With over 3,700 delegates, from more than 90 countries, ECE 2019, held 18-21 May, was a busy and interesting conference. The aim of the conference was to further the understanding and application of endocrine science within the endocrine community; ultimately benefiting the life of patients.

Attending ECE 2019 gave NPF an exciting opportunity to communicate directly with health professionals, from all disciplines and countries. Visitors to our stand, from UK, Europe and further afield, re-iterated common themes and issues – the need for reliable, accurate information (for themselves and their patients), access to expert care & treatments, education and training  and knowledgeable support – for both physical and mental health.

The invitation to attend shows an increasing recognition, by ESE, of the role of patients, and patient advocacy organisations (PAOs), in shaping future excellence in healthcare: from raising awareness of Neuroendocrine Cancer – symptom recognition and early diagnosis, to the importance of training, education, dedicated expertise and excellence in specialist care planning and provision and patient-centric research, both in trial design and aims/outcomes focus.

We would like to thank ECE for the invitation and inclusion in this event and to those who visited the NPF stand for your comments and interest, and to those who expressed an interest in further contact and collaboration in developing their own patient-centred materials and resources, we look forward to future collaborations!
